If you have narrow-set eyes and want to do a smoky look like this—skip the dark shadow application at the inner corners of your eyes to avoid drawing them more inward.
Eye liners can be created with many different make-up products & tools. It can instantly alter your eye shapes, asides from accentuating your eyes (as seen in the EYE LINER 101 chart above)! It’s a must-know makeup technique you need to learn!
For more of a dramatic effect, most people like to use a liquid or gel/cake/cream formula eye liner to create that winged out Feline Flick look–it gives more of a sexy, glamorous appeal. These products usually give a darker, stronger, and more opaque finish on the lines.

Backstage Graphic Eye Liner Looks
·
For more of a natural look, an eye pencil or an eye shadow application with a liner brush can do the trick. Why? With a liner brush application of a pencil or eye shadow, the color does not go on as opaque or intense; and also, with the way that a liner brush is designed and its fine tip, it can really reach into the tiny gap in between the lashes, so your liner application can look very flawless. You can make the line really fine, really thick, or layer it up to make it bold & strong!
If you are like me who likes to use a serious deep black pencil that is very creamy, easy to apply & blend, and also waterproof, then I highly recommend Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Pencil “Perversion”. The brand carries a wide range of rainbow colors in its Glide-On Eye pencils. They are cushion-y, creamy eye pencils that deliver powerful, vibrant color that slides on smoothly and stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries to a long-lasting finish that won’t budge. These pencils go all day and all night, and it’s waterproof which means it’s great for swimming, or for bridal make-ups.

The two eye liner brush that I like to use often to line the eyes are M·A·C #209 Eyeliner Brush and also the M·A·C #266 Small Angle Brush.

M·A·C #209 Eyeliner Brush is made of synthetic fiber so it can delivers a precise, soft-firm, even stroke with liquid or gel/cake/cream type of eye liners.

M·A·C #266 Small Angle Brush is a perfect make-up brush that a professional make-up can’t live without! Not only it’s great to create eye liners with its firm fibers, it can also be great for creating various shapes of eye brows, and that crispy clean lip liner as well.
There is a similar version of this brush which is the M·A·C #263 Small Angle Brush. The main difference is that the #263 is made of all synthetic fiber (softer touch and thinner application), and the #266 is made of both synthetic & natural fibers, which gives a firmer application on the lines.

It stays on the eyes very well. It’s good for lining the eyes, use as a face painting product, a bold black eye brow looks, great eye shadow base for a super intense black smokey eyes, or if you want to use it creatively, I have also used it for Halloween make-up to create that really black colored lips (just make sure not to eat it)!
